Nebraska. A year later...

It has been one whole year since my friend Jacqueline and I went on a road trip to Nebraska, on a whim might I add. Since I didn't have a blog back then I thought I would share some of the memories. This is where it starts. We met this soccer team from Bellevue University...that's in Nebraska. Only most of the boys on this team are from England, Scotland, Serbia. They all have lovely accents. Anyway, they were here playing Westminster so we went the next day to watch them. Blah Blah..Right after the game they had to catch a flight and it broke our little hearts, but lucky for us they said "come on out and visit us sometime." Little did they know we would really come out there. So on a Thursday we looked at their soccer schedule and they had a game at 3:30 on Saturday! I know, I know. Jac and I both fly for free, but that seems way to easy. Friday morning bright and early we loaded up Jacqueline's VW Beetle, yeah seriously! and were on our way! Oh did I add that we brought our Mannequin, Carlos! He has Facebook..look him up- Carlos Edwardo Javier. Yeah so he took up the whole back seat along with our pillows blankets and bags. Anyway, we were on our way after a quick Maccas breakfast run:) So begins our long drive. I must also inform you that we are planning on stopping in Boulder, Colorado on our way to Omaha, Nebraska. Which is out of our way 3 hours each way...just remember that. Alright so I wish more than anything I could of recorded this whole trip, it was hilarious. Plus we make awesome music videos to Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis and Crazy Rap by Afro Man and so much more. We also had our list of things we had to have happen..such as get flipped off, take pictures with strangers..etc. Alright so the way we got there, every stop that we had to stop at was a truck stop! It reminded us of the movie "Joy Ride" Plus alot of them were..uh..Perverts. So awkward. While making our "only hope" music video in Rawlins Wyoming, we got pulled over for going 91 in a 75, but the cop was nice enough to write jac up for only going 90. Thanks! ok Well we finally arrive in Boulder and our friend just said to call him when we got there and he would give us directions to his place..So he answers and all that, but then we lost connection or something so we call him back and he doesn't answer! so we try again! No Answer! So we leave a message...Yeah he never called us back. So we find a chili's and go eat there oh and it's probably like 5 or so at this point. Let me remind you Jacqueline and I are already in a bad mood! and they seat us in the lounge, well it's open seating and there are a couple tables of guys watching some football and other sports. THEN these girls walk in like...maybe 16 or 17 and they are so damn annoying they had those high pitched ditsy voices, like everything they say is a question. There are like 7 of them trying to fit in a 4 person booth...being loud as frick and so dumb and annoying. Everyone in the lounge was getting upset. So one of the girls goes in a whiney voice "I don't know what to order!!" so Desiree..thats me:) says to her " How 'bout a huge plate of shut the [hell] up!" I may or may not have said a different word other than hell..Whoops. then the guys clapped and the girls were silent. Alright so we go to order and I go Can I have the crispy tacos cuz our chili's has them and the server says "We don't have those." Ahh!! I was so sad. So after chillin for a couple hours we give our friend one more call and no answer. Well friends..His place was where we were suppose to crash...Negative! So we hop in the car a continue to Omaha...Which all together we went 6 -8 hours out of our way to see a "friend" Well we drove for a few hours until our eyes wouldn't stay open so We pulled in a rest stop and tried to sleep in her tiny packed bug! Plus it was freezing. I felt like Ashton and Britney in "just Married" We finally get to sleep when another truck pulls in with a truck load full of barking dogs. So we left and continued driving with of course our awesome conversation and did I mention we got flipped off by a motorcycle? We did and when we did we clapped because we could cross something off our list. Anyway we're driving and both of us go I'm so tired i can't keep my eyes open so we find a rest stop and take well needed nap. Remember it is saturday now and we have to be to their game at 3:30. We set our alarms and kept on snoozing them. We woke up at like 1:00 and when we put the address for the field in the GPS it said destination time 3 hours!! ahhhhh!!!!! No worries we pulled in to the parking lot at 3:28, but we needed to change so we did. We made t-shirts for the players and ran in to the game where we met Monday, Easy and Bird...These black guys that came and sat by us and were like oh you are all the Utah girls they met? and then they did cheers for us and blah blahh...so after the game They were all so surprised to see us! They said we have to go have a team meeting and shower and stuff so they would call us later, no worries they did..haha ,but until then Monday, Easy, and bird were like come kick it with us so we go over to their house and it smells like butthole and smoke and we both make up and excuse to leave after just sitting in the butt smelled filled house. When we get back to the car we Found out that Monday left his phone in the car so we had to go back there!! We just knocked and ran and left it by the door after erasing our numbers out of it! haha. alright so then Jacqueline and I are starving and we happen to know Red lobster is having never ending shrimp so we type that in the GPS and Follow it when all of a sudden we pass a sign that says "Welcome to Iowa!" haha Yep we also went to Iowa after eating we finally got to kick it with the soccer boys and the next morning we left to go to Kansas to visit one of Jacs friend and nothing besides the drive was interesting there then on the way home we went through like 7 toll roads that were $6 each and one of them we had to go on twice cuz we went the wrong way and had to back track and it's so funny cuz it just flashes a camera at you. It sucked!! that was driving back though Colorado since we didn't go back through boulder...Then in Wyoming we got stuck in a freakin blizzard we had to drive like 4 mph!! plus it is pitch black out there with no street lights just us and the little bug ok so we get home at about 4 am Monday morning! Friday -Sunday we went to wyoming, colorado...waste of time! Nebraska, and Iowa by accident and Kansas!well that is my adventure one year ago!!
